Evelyn Falls

Trail Name: Evelyn Falls
Distance: 3.6 kms
Time: 1.25 hrs
Difficulty: Medium
Cell Service: No
Dog friendly: Yes
Trail: Single track switchbacks through the forest.
Highlight: A lovely hidden waterfall with handmade swing!

To get there: This hike is about an hour and twenty minute drive from Kamloops. Head East along the Trans-Canada Hwy. Continue on the highway for about 65kms. Just past Chase turn right onto Squilax-Anglemont Rd and head over the bridge. Continue for about 41km. About 1km past the Lakeview Community Park, turn left onto Golf Course Rd. Follow it 1.1km past the Fire Department and airstrip to the trailhead parking lot.  Or get directions from here.

The trailhead is located just past the Fire Department and to the left of the parking lot. Follow the single track trail through the forest. The trail climbs up the bank and into the forest. The first 1km is full of switchbacks as you climb up the slope. The trail then flattens out before descending back down into the ravine where the waterfall is located. The trail is linear so you will take the same route back to the parking lot.

This trail was a great addition to a day of hiking at the Shuswap. We loved the little waterfall and the handmade swing at the bottom to appreciate the beauty! This trail would be suitable for most, although the steady climb at both ends of the trail in both directions can be quite tiring. Dogs are welcome.
