To get there: From downtown, head south on Fifth Avenue.  Continue across Columbia street;  the courthouse will be on your right. Keep going straight through the parking lots until you reach a stop sign.  Keep to your left at the first and second stop signs and you’ll cross a small bridge.  This is Glenfair drive.  Turn right here, and continue straight to the parking area at the Park entrance. Glenfair drive also connects with Columbia Street. Or get directions here.

This trail starts at the Downtown entrance to Peterson Creek Park. Head into the park and towards the large park bulletin board and trail map. Take the Sagebrush trail to the left of the sign and follow it as it climbs the hill behind. Continue following the signs for the Sagebrush trail at the following fork and keep to the right. Continue climbing until you reach the top of the plateau. Be sure to appreciate the view from here! Continue down the trail as it follows alongside the highway about 200 meters. Keep your eye open for the Sagebrush Trail sign on your left. Follow the path towards the sign. When you reach the back alley, head left and follow it until it turns back into the trail at the end. This path will take you back to the start trail and the Downtown entrance to Peterson Creek Park.

This trail, although relatively short, is a significant climb in a short period of time. Older kids would be fine on this trail. Peterson Creek is an off-leash dog park, so bring your furry pals! This hike offers great views of the city and Kamloops’ newest trail – Xget’tem’ Trail
