Highlights: This is a very peaceful and easy walk around the lake.
To get there: From downtown, take Columbia street up the hill and through Sahali. Continue on Columbia Street onto the Trans-Canada highway heading west. In 3.2km, take exit 366 for Copperhead Drive towards Lac Le Jeune. Turn left onto Copperhead Dr and follow the signs for 2.2km to Lac le Jeune Rd. Turn right onto lac le Jeune Rd and continue on this road for 20km. Stake lake will be on your left.
There is plenty of parking at the lake or around the Overlander Ski Club lodge. The trailhead is on your left as you approach the boat launch at the lake. This is a perimeter trail, so just keep to your right at any forks you come across and you’ll be sure to return to the parking lot! There are maps at most of the forks in the trail showing the many other trails to explore.
This trail is accessible to anybody who can walk, including dogs on-leash. It is quite flat, and is mostly compact dirt and grass. It may be difficult for wheelchairs or strollers.
