White Lake Lookout

Trail Name: White Lake Lookout
Distance: 2.8 km
Time: 1-2 hrs
Difficulty: Medium
Cell Service: Unknown
Trail: Single track uphill through the forest.
Highlight: The view is amazing!

To get there: This trailhead is just over an hour’s drive from Kamloops. Head East along the Trans-Canada Hwy towards Salmon Arm. Continue on the highway for about 83kms. After passing through Blind Bay, keep your eye out on the left for the Balmoral Rd. turnoff. Exit onto Balmoral Rd. and then turn right onto White Lake Rd. Continue for another 6km and you should see the Bike Park on your left. Pull into the parking area here. Or get directions from Google here.

Park in the bike park parking area. The trail heads off to your left up the side. The trail is well maintained and well signed. You should have no troubles following the trail through the numerous intersections. This trail is a linear trail and we’d advise you to bring a lunch to eat at the top while you enjoy the views! Be sure to sign the log book at the top too!

White lake is a gorgeous lake! The water is so blue and clear in areas! And beware of turtles on the road! They are everywhere! As for the trail, we didn’t love the trail as much as the Flume trail, the views at the top were amazing and worth it! Next time we do this trail, we will most definitely bring a snack or lunch to eat at the top and enjoy the views for even longer!

  1. Thank you so much for your FB page – I love reading about the trails you find! I have hiked some of them, but look forward to new adventures on the ones you suggest. Enjoy the descriptions and the photos ….Just wondering if the trails are off leash when I see your sweet dog wandering along with you?
