Dogwood Marshes Snowshoe

Trail Name: Dogwood Marshes
Distance: 2.1 km
Time: 1 hr
Difficulty: Easy
Cell Service: Yes
Trail: Stomped in
Highlight: Great loop for snowshoeing in the winter, and it’s free!

To get there: From downtown Kamloops, take Columbia street up the hill and through Sahali. Continue on Columbia Street onto the Trans-Canada highway heading west. Continue up the highway and take exit 366 for Copperhead Drive. Turn left onto Copperhead Dr and follow the signs to Lac Le Jeune Rd. Turn right onto Lac Le Jeune Rd and continue on this road for about 18.5kms. The parking lot pull out will be on your left, you’ll want to park towards the far end as it’s closest to the gate. Or get the directions here.

Park in the mentioned pull out and park as far down as possible. The gate to access the trails will be ahead on your left (on the same side of Lac Le Jeune road as the pull out; the Bush Lake area is across the road). From here, we headed left and followed a trail through the trees. It climbed a bit of a hill and then looped around to the right. Keep right and you should complete a nice loop.

This area was amazing! We loved the variety of trails and variety of lengths. We recommend bringing a phone with Google Maps so that you can always double check where you are within the trail system. This area would be fantastic for families as you can choose to do a long trek or a short loop near the parking area. Also a great place to bring your dogs! We will definitely be back to explore more of this area!

  2. Hello – is this before or after the Bush Lake Trails pull out (coming from town).

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Mary! This is the same pull out!! Just instead of crossing the road to access the Bush Lake trails, there is an opening in the fence to the left that leads to the Dogwood Marshes trails 🙂 Let me know if that makes sense!

      1. Yes. It does make sense. Turns out I have done this snowshoe many times…I thought it was called the Bush Lake North Loop.

        OOPS! Hahaha!!

Thank you for getting back to me 🙂
